Bio

Mariano Sanchez's passion for wrestling began in his hometown of Orange Cove, California. A standout high school wrestler, he earned a third-place finish in the state championships in 2002. After high school, Mariano continued to excel in wrestling, becoming a two-time Junior College All-American and state champion at Fresno City College. He went on to compete at Menlo College, where he was a two-time All-American at the NAIA level.

With over 15 years of coaching experience, Coach Sanchez has made a significant impact in the wrestling community. He spent five years as the assistant men's wrestling coach at Menlo College, where he was part of a coaching staff that led the women's team to a national championship in 2019. During his tenure, he also helped coach numerous All-Americans.

Coach Sanchez's coaching philosophy emphasizes consistency, positivity, and hard work. He believes that good things happen to those who dedicate themselves to their craft and that growth comes from embracing the journey. Mariano finds great joy in helping his athletes develop not only as wrestlers but as individuals, both on and off the mat.
