Skyline Student-Athlete Academic Support
Erin Johnson -Academic Counselor
Erin Johnson (she/her) is an academic counselor for student-athletes at Skyline College. She holds a Master’s in Counseling from San José State University and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from UC Davis, where she first discovered her passion for higher education as an undergraduate peer advisor. With extensive experience in academic counseling, Erin takes a holistic, equity-centered approach to working with student-athletes. She values getting to know each student as a whole person and helps them identify their strengths, plan their academic paths, and build sustainable habits that support success both on and off the field. One of her favorite moments is when a student leaves a session feeling more confident, grounded, and clear about their next steps. Outside of work, Erin enjoys listening to live music, trying out new recipes, and hitting balls on the golf course.
Our Mission
The mission of the Skyline Athletic Academic Resource Center is to support all student-athletes in reaching their academic potential. We do this by offering exceptional academic advising across all majors, connecting students with key academic resources and closely monitoring NCAA academic eligibility and progress toward degree completion. Our ultimate goal is to equip student-athletes with the skills to become academically competent, independent learners who are committed to lifelong education.
Who We Are
Erin Johnson leads our efforts to support the academic success of Skyline College’s student-athletes. As our mission emphasizes, success off the field is just as important as success on it and that begins in the classroom. Backed by years of collective experience with Skyline College students, staff, faculty and alumni, our athletic department brings deep knowledge and personalized guidance to help student-athletes reach their academic goals.
