Skyline College Women's Basketball completed a season sweep over district rival College of San Mateo with Friday's 74-59 victory. San Mateo lead early while Skyline tried to find a rhythm. Early foul trouble kept several of Skyline's key contributors on the bench, but Skyline kept battling and closed the first half trailing 30-28. Skyline's scoring increased in the Third Quarter with key three-point baskets by sophomores Tatiana Newsome and Camila Solari-Chaman.
Though Skyline was down 1 after three quarters, the Trojans clearly had all the momentum. Skyline's hot shooting continued in the 4th quarter and back to back threes by Newsome and Solari-Chaman stretched Skyline's lead to 10. Skyline finished the game strong outscoring San Mateo 26-10 in the 4th quarter and securing a 74-59 victory. Sophomore Lala Lautaimi lead all scorers with 20 points while Solari-Chaman and Newsome added 17 and 16 respectively.
