Trojans Too Much for Rams in Key Conference Match

The Skyline Men's Soccer team hosted rival San Francisco City College on Tuesday and despite conceding a early goal to the visitors the Trojans fought back to tie the game before the half and took the lead early in the second half to secure the 2-1 win.

Skyline remains unbeaten at home this season with a 4-0-1 record and pushed their overall record to 7-1-2. The Trojans entered the game ranked 10th in the CCCSIA State Men's Soccer Rankings and as a result of a difficult pre-conference and early Coast Conference schedule, now hold the top spot in the state with a cumulative power point total of 2.500. Regional playoff seeding is determined by team power points at the end of the season.

Dane Pendleton (So. Prospect HS) got the Trojans to level with a low shot from the top of the box that found its way past the CCSF keeper off an assist from Luis Rodriguez (Fr. San Mateo HS) in the 36 minute. It was Pendelton's team leading 9th goal of the season.

After halftime, Skyline settled into the match and found a way to take the lead in the 58th minute. Daniel Alvarado (Fr. Homestead HS) hooked onto a pass from Dennis Sanchez (Fr. Archbishop Riordan HS) for this 3rd goal of the season.

Goalkeeper Jack Parker (So. Aragon HS), who has started all 10 games this season, made the lead stand up recording 4 saves in the match and lowering his GAA for the season to 1.37.
