Both the Skyline Men's and Women's Soccer teams will be participating in the 3C2A Northern California Soccer Playoffs this weekend with hopes of moving thought the brackets and securing a spot in the State Championship Final 4 hosted by Mt. San Antonio College December 1st-3rd. The two programs combined for an amazing 30-3-5 record this season.
Under Coast Conference Coach of the Year Gabe Saucedo the Skyline Men wrapped up the regular season on an 8 game win streak, en route to claiming their first Coast Conference Championship since 1987. The Trojan's 16-2-2 overall record earned Skyline the #1 seed in the Men's Northern California Regional Playoffs, guaranteeing themselves home games in the first three rounds, before a possible trip to the championship semifinal and final at Mt. SAC in Walnut. Skyline will host #16 seed Lake Tahoe Community College on Saturday, November 18th @11am. Sophomore Dane Pendleton (Prospect High School) scored15 goals and added 7 assists and Coast Conference Forward of the Year Fr. Luis Rodriguez (San Mateo High School) scored 12 goals and added 5 assists to lead the Trojan offense this season. Skyline also features this year's Coast Conference Defender of the Year Fr. Dennis Sanchez (Riordan High School).
After completing a remarkable 14-1-3 season the Skyline Women's team returns to the Northern California Regional Playoffs for the first time since 2015 as the #9 seed. Skyline will travel to San Francisco City College on Saturday, November 18th for a 2pm kickoff against the #8 seeded Rams. The two local rivals, separated by just 15 miles, played to a 1-1 draw back on October 24th. Skyline was lead this season by Coast Conference Goalkeeper of the Year So. Melanie Garcia (Jefferson High School), who allowed just 8 goals in 17 games this season. Haylee Klingler (Fr. Mercy Burlingame) scored a team high 14 goals and Fr. Mariah Stansberry (Newark Memorial) lead the team with 10 assists.
