Coach Sharabi comes to Skyline College with a wealth of coaching experience. Mike has spent a total of 9 years coaching at Foothill College (2010-2013, 2018-2022). He guided the Men’s program to back-to-back Coast Conference Championships in 2019 and 2021 Tallying an overall record of 34W-3L-7D. Going undefeated in Conference play both years. These were the first Conference Championships for Foothill in 15 years. He was named Conference Coach of the Year in both seasons. Sharabi also guided the program to 2 CCCAA State Final Four appearances. The first for Foothill College since 1988. In his tenure, Foothill was ranked in the top 10 Nationally 5 times. In 2021 the team had the best goals against numbers in the country. Giving up just 8 goals in 20 matches. In 2019 and 2021, the program had a 100% matriculation rate to Universities. Under his guidance, Foothill has had 8 All Americans, 14 All Region, and 17 Academic All Americans. From 2010-2013, Sharabi was also the assistant coach for the Women’s program, which culminated with the programs first ever Final Four appearance (’13).

 

In 2014, Sharabi joined the staff at San Francisco State University. In his first season at SFSU the team recorded their first winning season since 1997. They allowed the fewest goals in program history (75 years). The highest winning percentage since 1990. They had 3 All-Conference players and 7 All-Academic Award players. In 2015 the program earned their first back-to-back winning seasons in 35 years. Fewest goals against in program history (13). Most shutouts in program history (9), while becoming the #11 ranked team in NCAA Division 2 in team goals against average. Sharabi spearheaded the recruiting at SFSU, which was instrumental in the success of the program.

 

Mike spent 4 years, (‘06-‘09) as the top Assistant at Menlo College. Menlo finished no lower than 3rd place in his tenure there. He also went back to his alma mater Burlingame High School to coach. In his first season coaching the Varsity boys, the Panthers went 16-2-2 and were Champions of the Peninsula Athletic League. They were also CCS Finalists and Mike was named San Mateo County Times Coach of the Year. In the next two seasons BHS made the playoffs and reached the semi-finals.

 

As a player, he played 4 years of Varsity soccer at Burlingame High School, where he still holds the scoring record of 29 goals in a season and was named CCS player of the year. He won a CCS championship and is currently a member of the schools Hall of Fame. He then attended Skyline College where he was first team All-Conference both seasons, tallying 28 goals. He then transferred to Menlo College. Mike was the leading scorer both seasons and was All-Conference.

Mike spent 9 years as the Director of Coaching for Peninsula Youth Soccer Club. Where he also coached a variety of teams throughout his time there. Winning a total of 30 Championships at the club. He currently is coaching at Silicon Valley Soccer Academy, who play in the MLS Next league. The top youth league in the country.


He holds a Bachelors degree in Business Management and a Masters degree in Sports Management, with a concentration in Coaching Theory.

 

Mike resides in San Mateo, with his wife Gina and daughter Malia.
