Late Goal Lifts Trojans Over Folsom Lake

The Skyline Men's Soccer team picked up their fourth win of the season in dramatic fashion over Folsom Lake College, scoring in extra time for a 2-1 home win. 

The Trojans are off to a 4-0-2 start in the pre-conference portion of their schedule and are currently ranked 13th in the latest CCCSIA Men's Soccer state rankings and 17th in the United Soccer Coaches NJCAA Div. III National Men's Soccer rankings.

Alexis Villanueva Za scored his second goal of the season in the 23rd minute against Folsom Lake to give Skyline a 1-0 lead, but the visitors equalized in the 72nd minute and the game seemed destined for a draw. 

In extra time Dennis Sanchez picked the perfect moment to score his first of the season, finding the back of the net to give Skyline the chance to celebrate a hard fought home victory.

Up Next: The Trojans will travel to American River College in Sacramento on Friday Sept. 23rd for a 1pm match.
