2019-2020 Season Preview

Skyline College enters the 2019-2020 basketball season with high expectations.  The Lady Trojans return a number of sophomores who gained valuable playing time and experience as freshmen, along with an incoming class expected to make an immediate impact.  The frontcourt features two All Coast Conference performers in forwards Olga Faasolo and Kalisi Fononga who look to impact the game even more this season. Freshman Nicole Brunicardi adds versatility to the frontcourt by being able to play with her back to the basket and face up to score from the perimeter.  Freshman Saucy Fainga adds needed rebounding and depth while also looking to be a threat from mid-range.

The backcourt sees Michala O'Donoghue and red-shirt transfer Ani Uikilifi return for their sophomore seasons.  Both players will look to impact the game with their perimeter shooting and defense. The backcourt will be anchored by freshmen Emilia Dougherty and Jalene Parangan who both possess the ability to shoot from the outside and attack the basket.  Freshmen guards April Alim, Valeria Martinez and Augie Serraon will spread the floor through solid perimeter shooting. Sophomore Kaliyah Hopkins and Freshmen Theresa Calingasan and Vickie Figueroa will add rotational depth for the Lady Trojans this season.  

Skyline will once again play against top-level teams in the preseason to prepare for the Coast Conference season and another run at the California State Playoffs.
